How Long Does Window and Door Installation Take?
One of the first things people ask is how disruptive the work will be. Every home is different, but here is a general picture of the process and what you can do to make it run smoothly.
1. Survey and quote
It starts with measurements. You can send us photos for a quick price, and we then confirm sizes before anything is made. Measuring accurately matters because every window and door is made to fit your openings.
2. Manufacture
Because we make our products in our own workshop rather than waiting on an outside supplier, lead times are easier for us to manage. We will give you an expected timescale when you confirm your order, as it depends on the products you choose.
3. Fitting day
A single door can often be fitted in a day, while replacing the windows of a whole house usually takes longer, depending on how many there are. We will tell you what to expect for your job in advance.
Our own installers carry out the work: no subcontractors, and the old units are taken away.
4. Making good and sign-off
We make good around the new units, check everything opens, closes and locks smoothly, and talk you through care and the guarantee. Your FENSA certificate follows after the work is registered.
How to prepare
Clear access to the windows and door, move furniture and fragile items away from them, and let us know about parking. That is usually all that is needed.
